The cemetery is in keeping with the tradition of placing 3,500 flags on veteransí graves, but the 53rd annual Memorial Day public ceremony wasnít held this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A section of the iconic Beech tree on the grounds of Prospect Hill Cemetery, is lifted in the air, with the Towson Town Center in the background on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The tree, which was being removed because it had become diseased, was estimated at over 80 feet tall and 130 years old, predating the founding of the cemetery in 1892.
